Ethiopia
I was fortunate enough to visit northern Ethiopia — Afar, Tigray, and Lalibela — before war broke out, as well as Harar in eastern Ethiopia. It’s one of the most gorgeous, wondrous places I’ve ever been to, from active volcanoes to Yellowstone-like geyser activity to camel caravans to active ancient churches carved from rocks to fantastic coffee. It is my sincere hope that peace can return, so people can visit and enjoy again.
