Uganda
I lived and worked in Uganda for nearly 3 years, and have been back to visit and work nearly a dozen times since then. It is one of the friendliest, most beautiful countries on the planet. The nonprofit that Kasper Agger and I founded together, the Grassroots Reconciliation Group, is based in northern Uganda, and helps former child soldiers and refugees.
Uganda is also a wonderful place to visit & explore — gorilla trekking, underrated safaris, fantastic Indian food, walks with white rhinos, and more. For the best things to do in Uganda & tips on visiting, see our detailed post here.
